The Atelier Bonheur du jour articles are imagined, designed and created entirely by us, Laurence and Justine.
All items from the Atelier Bonheur du jour brand are manufactured entirely by us in our workshop at Tour du Pin, in the north of Isère.
All the “wooden” products that we manufacture are in French Medium, 3 mm thick. Also called MDF, it is made from hardwood or softwood wood chips, obtained using a cutter-shredder. After drying, the fibrous material is pressed into panels. This wood offers great advantages for the finish and its density.
Our wooden items are above all decorative products. In contact with water, the color finish, which is not a pasted image, will not come off because we use professional lacquers and varnishes. Our items are therefore insulated from water, front and back. If you soak the “objects” for too long or if you put them in the washing machine, water will enter through the edge because it is not varnished, the “object” may swell and may soften. If you handle it at this time, you could damage it. If you let it dry, it may return to its original shape or not! Some clients are used to applying transparent nail polish to the edges of the buttons to prevent water from passing through and tell us they have good results. Objects do not all react in the same way, so we prefer to tell you that they are not washable.
If it is noted in the item designation “button” and there are 2 or 4 holes in the center, then you can sew it like a button.
If the item has only 2 holes at the top, it will be hung with a clip (wire, string, ribbon). Nothing stops you from sewing it to secure it in place and also putting a drop of wood glue on the back to secure it to the work.
Items designated as “panels” must be secured with sewing stitches. You can also glue them with wood glue.
For all other items, it will be specified in writing and in photos how to use them.
